Hanging Radiators On Stud Plasterboard Walls
Hanging Radiators On Stud Plasterboard Walls. Seem to be holding my radiators just fine with 3 per bracket. You can then fit your rad brackets where they are needed regards teabreak

Mount the anchor bolt in the hole in the wall and offer the timber up to the wall. For a light radiator i use the long frame fixing screws available from wickes or similar. From left to right, there is a 22mm wide (i.e., horizontally parallel to the wall) stud, then a 38mm stud (the two studs are spaced 60cm), then the jack stud of the door.
Traditional Gas Radiators Have A Complicated Relationship With Stud Walls Due To Their Bulky And Heavy Nature.
Yes all partition walls have studs in them and they should be around 400mm apart. But it's easy eliminate these risks: That's the weakness in the problem.
Hi, I Have An Internal, Decorated Plasterboard Wall With Poor Studding:
You can't just tap in a nail long enough to reach a stud, as you might to hang a heavy picture on drywall. Walls are a mix of 15mm board on metal stud or dot and dab, but wimpey obviously supply the adhesive as it is rather generously applied. Still, it is not recommended to mount your radiator on a stud wall the way you would on a brick or concrete wall, but with our diy guide.

When it comes to fixing a radiator to plasterboard or a stud wall, you can trust geefix. So long as the studs are thick enough it. The excess threaded section can be cut back to the nut with a hacksaw.
I Couldn't Find Other Studs.
Another option might be to fix studs into the wall with a resin fixing and then hang the radiator brackets on those. You really need to fix into the studs, the best way if the studs don't line up is to let a couple of peices of floorboard into the plasterboard so is flush (or cut some 18mm ply) then fix it to the studs. Our electric radiators have the advantage of being exceptionally light and can be easily wall mounted on all types of walls.
The Studs Are About 300Mm Either Side Of The Rad Centre Line And The Rad Brackets Are 599Mm From Centre Line, Nowhere Near A Stud.
From left to right, there is a 22mm wide (i.e., horizontally parallel to the wall) stud, then a 38mm stud (the two studs are spaced 60cm), then the jack stud of the door. I need to hang a ~2500 btus radiator (i have gas central heating), and i'd prefer to avoid both hanging on plasterboard and adding battens/noggins to fix the brackets (also because plasterboard seems to be less than 12mm deep, probably 9.5mm, sorry difficult to. Even the heaviest duty cast iron wall anchors is only being held by 6mm plasterboard.
